One of the most outstanding examples of contextual, historicist architecture of its time, it houses Grace Church School with 86 Fourth Avenue and is part of the Grace Church individual NYC landmark designated in 1966. The Gothic Revival buildings at 92-98 Fourth Avenue were designated individual NYC landmarks in 1977. No. 92 was built in 1902 as the Grace Church clergy house by the architectural firm of Heins & LaFarge. Grace Memorial House at No. 94-96 was built in 1882-83 and designed by James Renwick, Jr. No. 98 was built 1906-07 and designed by Renwick, Aspinwall & Tucker in the Gothic Revival style within the Tudor tradition. It was designed with Gothic motifs by the architectural firm of Heins and LaFarge, winners of the original competition for the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
