As the Weber and Fields Music Hall the venue present vaudeville, of course. But they were also known for shows written as parodies of contemporary Broadway hits. "Whoop-Dee-Doo" was billed as a musical extravaganza set in Paris. It ran for 151 performances in 1903 and 1904. The review in the New York Times noted: "There were times when the convulsions of laughter drowned out every second joke for all those behind the first few rows."
