State Street and Whitehall Street
Numbers 1 and 2 State Street were purchased by flour merchant John B. Coles sometime before 1800, and 3 State Street was purchased by the Overing family in 1795. The corner building at 1 State Street was home to American engineer and inventor Robert Fulton and later housed the Seaman's Church Institute from 1902-1913. The buildings were sold in 1913 and demolished in 1914.
