Manhattan: 86th Street (East) - East End Avenue 517 East 86th Street, west of, adjoining, and at the N.W. corner of East End Avenue. Henderson Place, perhaps the shortest street in the city, extends half-way in the block toward 87th Street, between No. 545-547. The chapel and hospital of the Sisters of Misericorde (Roman Catholic) is No. 523-535. January 31, 1928 P.L. Sperr. NEG #3432 The New York Sun of December 22, 1956 reports the filing of plans for a modern 6 story apartment on the sites of No's 517-21 E. 86th Street. These structures are at the left of this view being a 5 story tenement and the 2 recessed buildings of the Dobbs Day Nursery and are to the west of the hospital of the Sisters of Misercorde.

Clarence Davies Collection, Museum of the City of New York Negative No. 237 The New York Sun of December 22, 1938 reports the filing of plans for a modern, 6 story apartment on the present site of Nos. 517-21 E. 86th Street. This structure, at a cost of ~175,000 will rise to the west of Misercorde Hospital and stand where the three buildings in the larger view are.
