The north side of East 42nd Street looking west from Lexington Avenue shows the 42nd Street entrance and main facade of Grand Central Station. There is a large vacant lot across from Grand Central on East 42nd Street across which two covered walkways have been constructed. Pedestrian, automobile and streetcar traffic is seen along East 42nd Street and Park Avenue.
