Are you ready for a closeup? Try your hand at re-creating these historic photos at Union Square! This challenge is only available to our iOS app users. \[Union Square Station, 143+03, New York, NY] View of the west side of Union Square by 16th Street. Shows statue of Abraham Lincoln, which was dedicated in 1870. Trolley tracks and trolley pictured on Union Square West. Several businesses, notally one called "Chop Suey," can be seen on the west side of the street. Behind Lincoln's statue are large buildings that house primarily garment industry businesses such as the Manhattan Corset Co., London Buttons, and Union-Made Headlight Overalls & Trousers.

Manhattan: Union Square (West) - 15th Street (East) - \[Union Square Park.] Union Square West, north from East 15th Street, showing removal of the Broadway street car tracks by the Works Progress Administration. Union Square Park is to the right extending to 17th Street. Above that point this thoroughfare regains its proper identity. The white building at the N. E. corner there is occupied by Butler Brothers. Overhead appears the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company tower. High Pressure Fire Service test at the north end of Union Square from Broadway looking east. The hoses were mounted on two and three legged "supporters" to help the Fire Department. For the tests, three men were assigned to each hose due to the immense pressure. July 12, 1908.
