LaRue, 82, both of 390 Rugby Road, walked with their father across the Brooklyn Bridge the day it was opened, 67 years ago. Yesterday, the day it was opened, they were driven by Mrs. Simmons' granddaughter, Mrs. Arline S. Brough of the Hotel St. George, through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. They are shown paying the toll to [African-American] Bert Smith of 397 Adelphi St., on completion of their crossing."
