Camera on West Street, looking north (Hudson River piers on the left), shows storefronts, street, trolley tracks, wagons, and pedestrians. May be a survey photograph documenting building exteriors at Gansevoort and West Streets, lower Manhattan. Image could have been used in preparation for a route proposed to the IRT in 1906. This proposed Ninth Avenue Route would have begun in Battery Place, run under West Street to Gansevoort and curve in to 9th Avenue.
