Lefferts Homestead
Peter Lefferts built this farmhouse in the traditional Dutch Colonial style to replace an earlier dwelling that was burned by American troops during the Battle of Brooklyn in 1776. Originally located on Flatbush Avenue between Maple and Midwood Streets, the house was moved to Prospect Park in 1918 to save it from destruction; it is now a museum specializing in children's educational programs.
