Columbia Hall, 1956. In character with the nearby Sailors' Snug Harbor, this Greek Revival building is a good example of the free manner in which a seemingly symmetrical building could conceal an asymmetrically planned house. The hexastyle Doric portico, though it reveals only one story, actually masks a second story behind the pediment.

Hamilton Park Cottage ARCHITECT: Unknown DATE: 1859-72 STYLE: Italianate Hamilton Park Cottage was one of the original houses of New Brighton, an important early residential suburban park that was derived from the romantic landscapes of Andrew Jackson Downing. In addition to its significance in planning history, the house is also notable as a pleasing example of a brick Italianate cottage.
