This 26-story mega-dorm was built for NYU by Michael Zenreich Architects in 2009. The church tower at this site is the sole remnant of one of the few city structures to serve as a house of worship for the Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faiths. The funeral mass for Andy Warhol film “superstar” Jackie Curtis was held at the church, which Village Preservation tried to save from demolition.
