This ten-story apartment building was constructed in 1929 by architect Charles F. Winkelman for The 42 East 11th St. Hotel Corp. Winkelman was the architect of several buildings in the adjacent Greenwich Village Historic District, including the Conservative Synagogue of Fifth Avenue and the former “Holley Chambers” Apartment Hotel.
