This eight-story loft building was designed in the Romanesque Revival style by Stephen Hatch in 1893. It was built on the site of the former mansion of Theodore Roosevelt’s grandfather. Many clothing manufacturers were located here, as well as a pioneering company in the commercial motion-picture industry. The building also housed the offices of the radical and experimental Grove Press, and a Book Row seller.
