This fifteen-story Gothic Revival building was designed by Victor Farrar in 1929 as an apartment hotel. Among its notable residents were Dr. Otto Nathan, the sole executor of Albert Einstein’s estate, who was subpoenaed and questioned by the House Un-American Activities Committee while residing here. During prohibition, the building’s penthouse served as a speakeasy. Go back and click on the tours the building is featured in for additional information and history.
