To get employees and visitors in the mood for the holidays, the Brooklyn Post Office Glee Club performs a number of Christmas carols in the lobby of the building. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle called them a group of "melodious mailmen."

In what appears to be utter chaos, Postal employees sort sacks full of packages to be delivered prior to Christmas. The U.S. Postal Service has been delivering holiday cheer for 244 years.

According to Sue Brennan, a spokesperson who was interviewed by the New York Times, the U.S. Postal Service spends all year preparing for the holiday season. Between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve, approximately 17.9 billion cards, letters, and packages are delivered.
