Fire officials today counted up $3,000,000 in damages plus injuries to 23 firemen and policemen in Brooklyn’s waterfront warehouse fire which started yesterday morning but wasn’t extinguished until late last night. The Blaze rage eight and a half hours before it was declared under control at 7 pm. And it was hours later before the last stubborn flames, feeding on the wrecks of 3,800 television sets and piles of packing case lumber, were drowned out.

Comrades anxiously watching one of their group on aerial ladder directing a stream off water into warehouse at Red Hook waterfront fire yesterday afternoon shorty before explosion tore outside of one of the buildings. Loss was estimated at $3,000,000. Twenty-three were injured.

Five firemen and two policemen were still in hospitals today, but their condition was described as “fair” to ‘good.” Investigations were underway to find the cause of the blaze which turned four warehouses, facing Atlantic Basin at 207, 208, 209, and 210 Commercial Wharf into ruins.
