Titanic Memorial Lighthouse and stores on Fulton Street, ca. 1976.

Originally installed on the top of the Seaman's Church Institute in 1913, the Titanic Memorial Lighthouse has stood on the corner of Water and Fulton Streets since 1976. The 60-foot-tall structure was installed at the insistence of Titanic survivor, socialite, and philanthropist Molly Brown. Originally the ball on the top of the structure dropped every day at noon as a remembrance of the victims. The ball drop stopped in 1967 and the Seaman's Institute moved locations in 1968. The lighthouse was donated to the South Street Seaport Museum and was installed near the entrance of the museum's complex of buildings.
