Fuller Building, 41 East 57th Street, ca. 1995.
The Fuller Building, constructed in 1929 for the Fuller Construction Company, which had previously been based in the Flatiron Building. The New York Times dubbed the 40-story Art Deco skyscraper a “jazz-age testament to the emerging commercial chic of 57th street.” Designed by the architectural firm Walker & Gillette, the building features rich bronze, marble, and mosaic details, as well as abstract sculptures by Elie Nadelman on both its interior and exterior.
