Gross Studio, located on Atlantic Avenue. People are visible in the door and window of the building, possible the proprietors of the studio. By the mid 19th century Americans (and Brooklynites) were enthralled with the new technology of photography. The Gross Brothers Photography Studio was open as early as 1850 and provided the neighborhood citizens with cartes-de-visite, stereoscopes, ambrotypes and tintypes, all exciting new features of commerical photography.
