First Presbyterian Church of Whitestone, March 5, 1932.

The Village of Whitestone was incorporated in 1869, largely due to the establishment and growth over a period of twenty years of the John D. Locke Tin Factory. The community was also entering a new phase of increased accessibility with the recently completed LIRR spur.

Established in 1871 as the first Presbyterian worship in the area, the new congregation, at first, shared space with Grace Episcopal Church. In the early 1870s, the local businessman John Locke, donated land for a church building. A wood-frame church was completed soon thereafter. The building underwent a major renovation in the mid 20th century, which enlarged and beautified sanctuary. The community celebrated its 140th anniversary in 2011.
