Claremont Park Station, 1936.
A station of the New York and Harlem Railroad existed here in Claremont Park beginning in 1847 (though the railroad had begun service through here six years earlier). While the original station here was on grade with the tracks, the structure rebuilt by New York Central in 1889 stood as a bridge over the four tracks below (the cut down to the tracks is not visible here behind the station). Declining ridership and a deteriorating station forced the closure of the Claremont Park station in 1960. The structure was likely demolished soon after.
