19 Stuyvesant Street Building Date : 1894 Original Use : Residential Original Owner : Andrew Brose & Charles Rentz Original Architect : Charles Rentz Description & Building Alterations Built in 1894 by architect Charles Rentz for himself and co-owner Andrew Brose, this five-story building was meant to house twenty families. The lower half of the building is solid brownstone where as the top half is made of tan stone with window sills of the same brown as the bellow. In 1937, the projecting high stone steps were removed and a new entrance was installed.
