Clarence Whitman Mansion, 7 East 76th Street.
This Renaissance Revival-style mansion was built in 1898 and designed by architects Parish and Schroeder. Originally, the address consisted of two neighboring facades until wealthy importer Clarence Whitman purchased the two houses and combined them in 1899, according to Daytonian in Manhattan. The mansion has since been home to a succession of notable owners, including art dealer Sam Salz, who displayed works by Cézanne, Monet, Renoir, and others inside.
