Clouds gather over Martel Place (76th Avenue), Forest Close, November 19, 1927.
Forest Close and neighboring Arbor Close are twin rowhouse developments, built between 1925-27 by the Cord Meyer Development Company. Each features a central courtyard garden surrounded by rows of single-family neo-Tudor homes designed by architect Robert Tappan. Like neighboring Forest Hills Gardens to the south, the developments’ architectural character is protected by covenant, strictly limiting contemporary remodeling.
