This elegant 14-story apartment building was constructed as a cooperative in 1923. During the 1910s a number of older single family and tenement dwellings were demolished to make way for large apartment houses. This neo-Renaissance building that occupies the entire blockfront replaced ten tenements building that had been constructed in 1877-78.
