Brick Presbyterian Church, ca. 1939.

The Brick Church on Park Avenue is the third location of a congregation founded in 1768. The first and second Brick Churches were located on Beekman Street and East 37th Street, respectively.

By the mid-1930s, the congregation had shifted further uptown, and church leadership acted to meet the community’s needs by merging with the Park Avenue Presbyterian Church, and building a new structure (brick, of course) at 91st Street.
