38 Greenwich, front view, October 11, 1914.
38 Greenwich was a six-story tenement building, seen here from above the elevated train line that ran down Greenwich Street (the Sixth and Ninth Avenue El lines). The windows here are filled with residents leaning out on pillows and chatting with their neighbors.
The building was demolished in the early 1940s, in preparation of the Brooklyn-Battery (now High L. Carey) Tunnel.
