Alhambra Theatre, May 1925.
Opened as a vaudeville theatre in December of 1914, the Alhambra Theatre was designed by Arthur G. Carlson. Enlarged from 1,500 seats to 2,200 only four years after opening, the theatre presented movies in its later years. Redesigned by famed theatre architect Thomas Lamb in 1927, the building retained its prominent corner turret. The movie theatre closed in 1951 and later was used for a supermarket and day-care centre.
Between 2015 and 2017, the building, which had long ago lost its lovely facade ornamentation, underwent a conversion into a 38-unit residential space.
