The Mid-century building is the home of a Modern Orthodox Shul that has served the surrounding neighborhoods since 1928. The building, designed by Martyn Weston and Herman Sohn and constructed between 1951 and 1957, includes a number of prominent mid century features, such as blocky massing and narrow vertically-oriented windows that frame the entrance.

The building also includes 18 stained glass windows by well-known American Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor, Adolf Gottlieb. The larger windows depict Jewish holidays, while the smaller ones include simple geometric motifs. Gottlieb's other major stained glass work (for the Milton Steinberg House in Manhattan) was dismantled in 1980 and reinstalled elsewhere, making his windows at Kingsway the only remaining example of his glass work in situ.
