The Fish Market on South Street between Peck Slip and Beekman Street, November 26, 1935.

By the time Berenice Abbott took this picture in 1936, the South Street fish market filled a six-block area and was the largest wholesale seafood market on the Atlantic Coast. At the southern end of the block (Nos. 116-119) is Meyer's Hotel, notorious for selling alcohol during Prohibition.
