P. S. 48, Joseph Rodman Drake School, The Bronx

Serving the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, P.S. 48 was named for American poet Joseph Rodman Drake. Built in 1916, the building’s brick and limestone exterior is neo-Gothic, a popular architectural style at the time. With its relatively high location on the hill, the building serves as a landmark for local residents.
