Rapelje Mansion. Built in 1790 by Jacobus Riker, whos daughter, Maria marries Cornelius Rapelje. Building was razed and the property is now part of the Astoria Houses.
hand written on back of print: Cornelius Rapelje House red shingle 875 Boulevard Astoria near Astoria Avenue (former Fulton St) built ab 1780. Cornelius Rapelje is the original owner of the house. His son George born in old Newtown died 1853 He mar Jane M Suydam b Old Newtown daugh of Adrian Suydam + also died 1853 Georges son Cornelius n NYC 1833 after his mothers death he was cared for by his aunt Mrs Grace (Rapelje) Trafford only sister of George Rapelje. Cornelius mar. 1857 Lydia L Hyatt daughter of John B Hyatt. Mrs Grace (Rapelje) Trafford's son Cornelius R. Trafford lived at Astoria + died 1872 gone 1925 garages on right LIC 1922
