Newtown - Waldron House and Barn - Rego Park Waldron House and Barn - (aka J.J. Tompkins House), built 1760 by Samuel Waldron, a distance east of Juniper Swamp Rd. (now 63rd Drive) and north of Carlton St., currently the NW corner of Elwell Crescent and 64th Road, at 63-60 Elwell Crescent. Owned by: J.J. Tompkins 1852, 60, 73, 91. In 1915 Matawok Land Co. owned the property. At the time this photo was taken, in April 1923, the yellow house was abandoned. This photo shows collapsed porch on west facade.

The present site is on NW corner of Elwell Crescent and 64th Road, at 63-60 Elwell Crescent, south east of Old Juniper Swamp Rd. (63rd Drive) and east of Trotting Course Lane (Woodhaven Blvd.). View of the north and west Sides of the deserted house, the porch has fallen. Photo taken April 1923.

Newtown - Waldron House and Barn - Rego Park Waldron House and Barn - The current NW corner of Elwell Crescent and 64th Road, at 63-60 Elwell Crescent. Built in 1760 by Samuel Waldron, a blacksmith (1715-1771), he married Anna Delameter on April 25, 1735, and they moved to Newtown. Owned by: J.J. Tompkins 1852, 60, 73, 91. This view is from Penelope Ave. (now 63rd Drive) looking east. At the time this photo was taken, in April 1923, the yellow house was abandoned.
