Civic progress

Row of rundown and abandoned apartment houses with laundry lines between buildings, three children playing and several other people. Caption: "Civic progress--These wash lines and decrepit buildings will disappear from the view of patients in Long Island College Hospital to make way for the playground for which the hospital's Board of Regents has donated $46,000 of land between Hicks, Amity, Columbia and Pacific Sts."
