Rosario Candela's Buildings Across the City
Story
Rosario Candela played a major role in shaping the architectural legacy of 20th-century Manhattan: the distinctive "prewar apartment buildings that define the cityscapes of streets like Park and Fifth Avenues and Sutton Place." Even today, almost a century after they were built, Candela's buildings rank among the most prized in the city.

Manhattan: West End Avenue - 102nd Street (West) (1) B63-55-67 West End Avenue, west side, between 102nd and 103rd Streets, residences built in the mid 1890's. In 1925 the entire southern half of this block, including these three, will be demolished for an apartment house. About 191O.
