69-71 Charlton Street This row of private homes on Charlton Street was built in the 1820s by John Jacob Astor and shortly after sold to Trinity Church. In 1915, American Architect magazine named 69 and 71 Charlton Street the "best masterpieces of our old city homes."

Manhattan: Charlton Street - Hudson Street (1) 71 to 69 Charlton Street, north side, between Hudson and Varick Streets. The No. 69 half of the building is frame behind its brick facing. 1912\.
