According to the New York Times of April 1, 1938 the theatre shown will be demolished and replaced with a modern motion picture house. This structure opened in 1866 as the Theatre Francais, was rebuilt in 1871 and named the Lyceum, later to become the 14th Street Theatre. For a fuller account see either the above newspaper or Kings Handbook of New York published in 1892.
