Newtown - Old Debevoise House - Forest Hills

Old Debevoise House - (aka Charles Stehling House) Debevoise Barn at right. Second site for the house at the NE corner of Metropolitan Ave. and 71st Ave. (Continental Ave.). The house was moved around 1890 from the NE corner of Metropolitan Ave. and 72nd Ave. The house belonged to A. Hegeman 1852, Mrs. Hendrickson 1860 - 1873, Jacob S. Debevoise 1891, J. Debevoise 1896. John Boss occupied 1922. The house was torn down in 1924. Photo taken October 1923.
