Street scenes - Wishing tree.
Street Scenes - Manhattan: The wishing tree at the corner of West 132nd Street and Seventh Avenue, Harlem. This is considered a good luck charm for actors in quest of bookings. It was dedicated on May 23, 1939 in the Savoy Ballroom at the New York Worlds Fair by Bill Robinson the negro dancer. An article on its disappearance from there was published in the
New York Post of June 13, 1939.
