Manhattan: 9th Avenue - 18th Street Nos. 122 to 112 Ninth Ave., at, adjoining and south of the S.E. corner of West 18th Street, showing a row of frame structures that nearly occupy the entire block front from 18th to 17th Streets and which will be demolished according to the New York Times of May 9, 1938 as a portion of planned site of a modern 6-story apartment house. This will rise on a plot 100 x 130 feet and will include the two 4-story brick houses Nos. 366 and 364 West 18th Street; the side wall of one of these appearing on the extreme left of view No. 1. 112 Ninth Avenue
Manhattan: 9th Avenue - 18th Street Ninth Avenue, east side, at 18th Street. The houses in this picture from No. 112 in the right foreground to No. 128 on the N. E. corner of 18th Street are frame structures which will stand in 1934. McParland's Malt and Hops Store, in the centre, is an interesting product of the rapidly dying prohibition era. Stores such as this, selling ingredients and equipment for home brewing, were legion; but the advent of legal beer on April 7, 1933, was a blow which most of them failed to survive. 1932\. J. Clarence Davies Collection, Museum of the City of New York. Negative No. 165.
