141 Sackett Street
\[People look at houses braced after earthquake] Caption: "Full force of the earthquake which rocked New York City shortly after 1 a.m. was felt in the downtown section of Brooklyn where walls split with pistol-like reports, sleepers were spilled from their beds, pictures fell from the walls, dishes rattled in cupboards. Walls of three buildings at 141, 143 and 145 Sackett St., were split by the temblor. Heavy shoring was rigged up to make the buildings safe before occupants who fled to the street could return. Here is front of No. 141 after workmen had braced the walls with timbers"; a group of men and one woman in right foreground look at the timbers, and two women look out of the far left window.
