Though the Eden Musee is now primarily known for its motion picture shows, the institution boasted a vast collection of wax figures organized in diorama-like scenes. The Musee opened in 1884 and quickly became a staple on 23rd Street.

The Eden Musee boasted a waxwork collection and other oddities such as magic lantern shows, marionettes, and a "Chamber of Horrors" in its basement. Though the institution had a collection of paintings, it was mostly known for the motion pictures which were shown in its various halls. The Musee was the first venue in the country with motion pictures as part of its standard programming. In fact, the Eden was Edison's first movie licensee. After the venue declared bankruptcy in 1915, much of its collection was auctioned off or exhibited on Coney Island.
