Croisic Building
Post
Croisic Building, 1912. Designed by Frederick C. Browne in a neo-Gothic style, the 21-story Croisic Building completed in 1912. While the lower section of the building rises plainly, the six-story crown is richly decorated with stone eagles, seated figures dressed in armor, and projecting gargoyles. While this drew its inspiration from Cass Gilbert's neo-Gothic West Street Building, this building in turn, influenced two other nearby buildings (212-216 Fifth Avenue and 228-232 Fifth Avenue), both designed by Schwartz & Gross.
