335-343 Bowery Building Date : 2006 Original Use : Commercial Original Owner : Three on Third Realty, LLC Original Architect : Matt Markowitz Description & Building Alterations This site was formerly occupied by the spectacular Dry Dock Savings Bank building (see New York Real Estate Brochure at sidebar), designed by Leopold Eidlitz in 1875. The building was demolished in 1954 and replaced with a garage/gas station, part of which survives on the corner (now housing a restaurant, the date “1954” is written in the building’s parapet). The current Bowery Hotel, designed by Matt Markowitz Architect, PC, was built in 2006
3 East 3rd Street

3 East 3rd Street Building Date : 2018-19 Original Use : Residential Original Owner : 3 East 3rd Street LLC Original Architect : Barrett Architecture LLC Description & Building Alterations This seven story building was built 2018-19 replacing what was originally two early 19th century row houses. According to tax assessment records, the original building on this site was constructed in 1830 as two separate two-and-a-half-story row houses. They were extended to full three stories and combined into one building no earlier than the 1930s.
