Newtown - Broadway - Elmhurst Broadway - The west side of Broadway, looking north from Maurice Ave. (now 51st Ave.) A line of Brooklyn Rapid Transit Co. (Wire Maintenance Car) is turning out of Corona Ave., E. & A. Howards General Store is at left (In this photo it is the Broadway Dept. Store). Because of subway construction all buildings were gone by Oct. 1930. 1922

Newtown - Broadway - Elmhurst Broadway - View of the west side of Broadway opposite Corona Ave. Three Wooden Houses at right of the Broadway Dept. Store (Formerly Howards General Store) being torn down. The house on the left belonged to A. Lawrence in 1873. The right house belonged to J.A. Lawrence (1873) - then Joseph A. Lawrence Jr., son of J. A. and Eliza D. Gorsline Lawrence, whom was born in 1845 in this House, where he resided in 1896. All houses were gone by Oct. 1930.

Newtown - Broadway - Elmhurst Broadway - Houses being taken down on the west side of Broadway opposite Corona Ave. House on left belonged to A. Lawrence in 1873, the next house J.A. Lawrence in 1873. The small peaked roof house was J. Hiland's in 1873. All buildings were gone by October 1930 for subway construction.
