Recreations and Hobbies: Italian individuals playing "Boche" on East Houston Street near First Avenue. Tenements in the background are on the north side of E. 1st Street; the "El" line being on the avenue. This triangular play area was developed by the combined efforts of the Park Department and the W. P. A. on land remaining after subway construction underground.
