Newtown - Remsen House - Rego Park

Remsen House - This view looks north toward the front of the Abraham Remsen House (built 1700). The house was on the east side of Trotting Course Lane about 400 feet north of Metropolitan Ave. and opposite Cooper Ave. The houses at left are on the east of the current Woodhaven Blvd. at Polo Place. After the Remsen family in the 19th Century the house was owned and occupied by the Weeden and later Kinsey Families. John Wolfert occupied in 1923, when the house was owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad. The Remsen House was torn down by August 1925.
