Newtown - Van Duyn House - Glendale

Van Duyn House - Small shingled farmhouse on the west side of Trotting Course Lane (Woodhaven Blvd.), south of Metropolitan Ave., and just south of Vanderveer House near the line of current 73rd Ave. The house was built circa 1736, and was known as Van Duyn House, it stood on the south end of original Van Duyn Farm. Garret Van Dine, Son of Dominicus (1757-1830) owned the farm in 1852, in 1860 Hunt owned, and the owner was Thomas Wolfert (J. Wolford) in 1873.
