Caption: "Strong box--From 1809 to 1819, the Bank of the Manhattan Company, now celebrating its 150th anniversary, used [this] box to carry currency to its branches in Poughkeepsie and Utica from its main office in Manhattan.Together with the Hamilton-Burr duel pistols, it is among objects of historic interest on display at the bank's 185 Montague St. branch. Inspecting the box are William J. Ahern, a vice president, and Leo G.Kney, an assistant vice president of the bank."
