Postage meter machines

Caption: "A battery of 32 new postage meter machines has been installed installed in various stations in Brooklyn, bringing the total in the borough to 42. These machines imprint the amount of postage on a gummed strip of paper which is placed on the parcels at the time of mailing. Postmaster Edward J. Quigley is shown inspecting one of the machines with Superintendent of Finance Martin Shapiro."
